The purpose of the Atkinson Public Library is to fulfill the informational, cultural, educational, and recreational needs of all library district residents, regardless of age, identity, ability, or educational background. By providing access to the universe of information, we hope to help make our community thrive.
We are working toward making our facility more accessible for those in our community with mobility differences!
Atkinson Public Library has been selected as one of 240 libraries to participate in Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association initiative. The program will provide community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help us better serve people with disabilities.
The competitive award comes with a $10,000 grant that will help us update our exterior doors and replace our sinks with more wheelchair and mobility aid -friendly models.
The Atkinson Public Library Board of Trustees is made up of seven members. The board meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 PM. These meetings are open to the public, so feel free to drop in!
